THE S.H.A.P.E. ACT

Information relating to the S.H.A.P.E. Act will be updated here as specific policies are created and proposed.

While Duke has an entire section within Student Affairs dedicated to sexual misconduct policy, resources, etc., the past few years on and off campus have shown that collegiate procedures, programs, and codes should be revisited, revised, and updated to not just be more proactive against campus sexual assault, but develop stronger and more effective preventative measures that ensure equity and accountability.

This component of the S.H.A.P.E. Campaign will create legislation that addresses institutional change, with aims to reduce instances of sexual assault and harassment on campus and promote healthier, justice-oriented courses of action and culture shifts.

The S.H.A.P.E. Act will be organized as a package of recommendations, featuring innovative and comprehensive new policy proposals; resource evaluations;

recommended reforms to institutional conduct procedures; and more.

Coming Soon.
